SUSHIL CHEEMA

Sushil Cheema is an Executive Coach with an extensive background working in journalism and digital media. In her time as a media professional, she worked as a freelancer for The New York Times and as a staff multimedia reporter for The Wall Street Journal. As a manager at a Florida-based personal finance startup, she was a manger, leading teams and helping individuals as they progress in their careers. She has worked with clients in media, financial services, and digital marketing. Her clients have ranged from young professionals to corporate executives.

Sushil is a lifelong learner whose career has spanned other industries beyond media, including education and law. She has served as adjunct faculty for an internationally known journalism non-profit, The Poynter Institute, coaching groups and individuals for conferences. She often volunteers her time mentoring college students and young journalists about their career ambitions.

Sushil is also a certified life coach and has advised clients on a range of issues, including business development, managing transitions and interpersonal relationships. She specializes in enhancing executive presence, improving communication skills, delivering feedback, and overcoming impostor syndrome. Where applicable and desired, Sushil often takes a holistic approach to coaching, drawing on her experience as a yoga and meditation facilitator to help clients lead more balanced lives.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, a master’s degree from Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism and a law degree from Stetson University College of Law.
